I did make a few more alterations on my swing dress: I cut the front neckline quite a bit higher than indicated on the pattern for a crew neck
Sit down during a fitting to see whether the skirt pulls across the hips or feels restrictive. Look for pulling or tension around seams during a fitting as a sign to reassess the size or silhouette.
Inspect whether the zipper end lies comfortably against your underlayers. Choose a size that leaves the closure under comfortable tension.
Check the room available for walking at your normal pace, especially if your day includes frequent movement. If pockets are important, verify that they are actually present rather than assuming they come with the style.
